Rep. Dan Frankel Introduces Bill to Prohibit Smoking in Pennsylvania Casinos

Pennsylvania Representative Dan Frankel recently introduced a bill that would prohibit smoking in all casinos in the state. This bill, if passed, would make Pennsylvania the first state in the nation to ban smoking in casinos.

The bill, which was introduced on June 5th, would make it illegal for anyone to smoke in any casino in the state. This includes traditional casinos, as well as any other type of gaming facility. The bill would also require casinos to post signs informing patrons of the new policy.

Rep. Frankel believes that this bill is necessary to protect the health of casino patrons and employees. He has stated that “We must take steps to protect the health of those who work and visit our casinos. This bill will help do that by prohibiting smoking in all casinos in the state.”

The bill has been met with some opposition from casino owners, who argue that it will hurt their business. However, Rep. Frankel believes that it will actually benefit the casinos in the long run, as it will make them more attractive to non-smokers who may have previously avoided them due to the smoke.

If passed, this bill would be a major step forward for public health in Pennsylvania. It would help protect both casino patrons and employees from the dangers of secondhand smoke, and could potentially lead to similar bans in other states. It is an important step in protecting the health of all Pennsylvanians, and one that should be supported.
